It's important to understand, however, that many different qualities of granite come out of the same quarry.
Granite blocks that meet our most exacting specifications are then sawed, polished, carved sandblasted and carefully hand-sculpted by our most skilled craftsmen.

Signature
Our Signature line represents by far the highest standard of quality available in a granite memorial today. Made from our very finest granite (the same stone used in our Rock of Ages Sealmark line), a piece of Signature memorial artwork is hand-polished and hand-tooled for an exceptional finish, then individually numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by a Rock of Ages Master Craftsman. Signature memorials are warranted forever and backed by the Rock of Ages Warranty Trust, an independent Trust funded by Rock of Ages Corporation and administered by an Independent Trustee.
Like our Signature line of memorial artwork, Rock of Ages Sealmark memorials are made using only our very finest grade of granite, specifically selected for its outstanding natural color and uniform grain. Our Signature and Sealmark memorials are warranted forever against defects in material or workmanship. This written warranty extends from the buyer, to his or her heirs, to the cemetery-and is backed by an independently managed trust fund which ensures that our customer's memorial will be protected for all time.
Though not our top-of-the-line quality memorials, the Rock of Ages Golden Rule® line is still made using granite that is superior to the granite used by other manufacturers. Available in many (though not all) of the same colors as our Signature and Sealmark line, Golden Rule memorials are also backed by a perpetual warranty which protects our customer and his or her heirs against any defects in materials or workmanship.
An Authorized Rock of Ages Retailer offers choices to fit every family's needs and financial circumstances. Our most economical Stone Eternal ® line of memorials is made using a good quality of granite-and backed by a perpetual warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship.

The
granite is taken from the quarry in huge, room-sized blocks. It is
inspected immediately, then sawed into slabs (like a loaf of
bread) and polished. At each step in this process, our skilled
craftsmen constantly assess the quality of the granite, saving the
very best stone for our own Rock of Ages lines of memorials.
Some
of the granite that comes from our quarries-stone that doesn't
meet our own Rock of Ages memorial quality measures-is sold in
blocks or slabs to be exported or made into memorials by other
manufacturers. These manufacturers buy granite blocks or slabs
from our company, because they do not own their own quarries.
